Welcome to the homepage of Somali language teachers in Sweden
Welcome to the homepage of the Somali language teachers in Northern Europe.
This homepage was created by the group of Somali language teachers back to 1998.
Today this homepage is a part of pilot project under the umbrella of the department of development at the national agency for education in Sweden.
Technical committee was set up by the Somali teachers from the northern Europe and was given a task and guidelines to develop this homepage in terms of contents and qualities.
Following are the names of technical committee:

3) Mr. Omar Aden Omar from Umeå City of Sweden

6) Mahamud Ali Sheikh from Stockholm City of Sweden
The head office is located at the Hedlunda School in Umeå City and Mr Tor Lundmark "principal of the Hedlunda School" is the chairman of the committee.
The main objective of this homepage is to provide and sustain the development of mother tongue and to serve as a meeting place for, among other things, teachers, pupils, and parents.
The homepage serves also as facilitator between the national agency for education and Somali teachers, students, and parents.

You could find sample lessons, annual work plans, syllabus, and course texts, textbook reviews. This site can be used as a forum whereby the teachers could exchange their ideas, and experiences.
The technical committee in associations with the national agency and Hedlunds School in Umeå arrange annually Inter-Nordic seminar on Somali language teachings methods development. A leading expert of Somali language is invited every year, and provides to teachers lectures, the method of teachings, the know-how, and other fundamental issue relating to language development.
In the long run the site will contribute to the smoothly integration process of the Somali immigrant students into the main stream of Swedish society.
